About The Position

Regulatory analysts work with internal and external partners to identify state, federal, or international regulatory issues and propose and execute strategies that position PG&E to comply with laws and regulations, receive full cost recovery, and strengthen and enhance its programs. The role supports regulatory proceedings and rate case filings, obtains management endorsement and regulatory approvals, represents PG&E in hearings and stakeholder settings, and provides a regulatory perspective that supports cost effectiveness and operational competitiveness while maintaining compliance. It also involves developing relationships with regulators and influencing regulatory decision makers to pursue improved guidelines, customer benefits, cost savings, and operational opportunities. The position analyzes regulatory proposals, legislation, proceedings, pleadings, decisions, and related materials; prepares recommendations for management; and leads responses to regulatory data requests, investigations, compliance matters, audits, and customer inquiries. It implements regulatory decisions and develops or revises moderately complex tariffs, billing procedures, and accounting rules in coordination with cross-functional partners. The role also attends regulatory hearings, workshops, and stakeholder meetings and prepares summaries, as well as helping prepare activity and cost reports for senior management, regulatory approvals, financial reporting, and audits.
