About The Position

The Regulatory Analyst, Senior position is responsible for the research, analysis, reporting, monitoring, and dissemination of information relating to Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) proceedings and other matters impacting the regulatory process for the Company's management, attorneys, and other appropriate personnel. Also acts as a liaison between regulatory staff and Company representatives regarding inquiries and required filings at the regulatory authority.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED credential, or equivalent is required.
  • Five or more years of utility industry experience in Regulatory, Accounting, Finance, or other related areas is required.
  • Proficient in developing and maintaining recurring reports and dashboards.
  • Strong understanding of data quality and reporting controls.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and input.
  • Proficient with personal computer (PC) software, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and reporting tools such as Tableau or Structured Query Language (SQL).

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or other business disciplines is encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate compliance reporting activities and other regulatory proceedings in order to comply with regulatory authority rules, as well as to meet the needs of Company management.
  • Provide support to management in submitting regulatory compliance and data reports.
  • Monitor other utilities' proceedings to keep management and Company personnel abreast of current issues and rulings.
  • Coordinate projects and rulemaking proceedings before the PUC to ensure that the Company's position is represented to the regulatory authority and to keep the appropriate Company personnel informed of any changes.
  • File reports with regulatory authorities (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), etc.) as required.
  • Assist with the development and preparation of Certificates of Convenience and Necessity (CCN) applications.
  • Compile, analyze, and disseminate regulatory reports and data as required.
  • Prepare, monitor, analyze, and report on External Affairs activities.
  • Provide assistance to External Affairs personnel on invoice processing and related accounting issues.
  • Assist Regulatory Management with projects and research on various reporting and project issues.
