About The Position

The Regulatory Administration & Airworthiness (RA&A) organization is seeking a Regulatory Administration and Airworthiness Manager (Level K) to lead one of our Puget Sound Teams. While there is one open manager position, candidates may be asked to lead either our International Type Validation (ITV) team (with teammates located in Everett and Renton), or one of our FAA/EASA-focused teams (with teammates located in Everett). Placement within the department is based on skills, experience, and overall organizational fit with the team. The selected individual will be responsible for managing a team that provides certification guidance and direction to airplane programs. This position involves interfacing with program engineers/leaders, and domestic/international regulatory authorities.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 2+ years of experience with regulatory requirements
  • 2+ years of experience integrating cross functional teams
  • 3+ years of experience with project management and the ability to self-manage projects
  • Strong natural leadership style that motivates and inspires excellence and innovation
  • Gains others' trust by demonstrating openness and honesty, behaving consistently, and acting in accordance with moral, ethical, professional, and organizational guidelines

  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience leading teams and/or leading initiatives
  • 2+ years of Aircraft Certification experience
  • Experience in FAA certification activities and processes in at least one Boeing business unit

Responsibilities

  • Navigate complex regulatory processes and landscapes while providing guidance to a network of stakeholders across all levels of management and non-management.
  • Coordinate and convey certification strategies, objectives and status to the Federal Aviation Administration and Civil Aviation Authorities.
  • Support employee development strategies and organizational endeavors related to enhancing employee engagement, influence and expertise.
  • Ensure ODA unit members are supported and have the time and independence necessary to carry out their regulatory responsibilities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Collaborate with program leaders to strategize and implement compliance measures, while also developing strong risk mitigation plans as necessary.
  • Ensure internal and external stakeholders are aware of program/project priorities and progress-to-plan.
  • Support the review of Applicant certification proposals and address related inquiries.
  • Prepare/Facilitate discussions with program leaders and government officials.
  • Ensure ODA objectives and procedures are understood, followed, and implemented across the value stream.
  • Manage budgets, headcounts and staffing strategies.
  • Coordinates with SoCal and Charleston to ensure common geographic approaches
