About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Arabic Culture I (ARB2101 Section A) during the 2026 Fall Semester in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the Faculty of Arts. The course is an introduction to Arabic culture and its development up to the end of the XVIIIth century. No prior knowledge of Arabic is required. The course is taught in English and has an expected enrollment of 100 students. The course is scheduled for Mondays from 19:00 to 22:00. The position is in-person.

Requirements

  • M.A. in Arabic or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Arabic culture
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Experience in the teaching of Arabic culture in English
  • Bilingual; French and English
  • Completion of all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law

Nice To Haves

  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
