About The Position

We are seeking a part-time instructor to teach SED 2513: Leadership and Communication, a 3-credit course designed to develop students' skills as technical leaders in multidisciplinary fields. The course emphasizes personal development as a leader, effective communication, project and risk management, ethical decision-making, and building inclusive, high-performing teams. Please note that this position requires teaching in French.

Requirements

Master's degree in technology, organizational leadership, communication, business administration, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated experience in professional teaching or training in leadership, communication, or project management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

Ph.D. in leadership, engineering management, or related fields.
Professional experience in the technology sector with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
Ability to integrate theory with practical leadership scenarios.
Experience teaching diverse student populations and fostering inclusive learning environments.
Experience promoting an active, experiential-based classroom.
Knowledge of sustainability issues, ethics in technological practice, and the role of diversity in team performance.
Knowledge of contemporary approaches to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Proficiency in teaching effective written and oral technical communication.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging lectures and case studies, and facilitate discussions on course themes.
Create and grade assignments, projects, and exams that assess both leadership and communication skills.
Align teaching with the course description and approved learning outcomes.
Coordinate exams and other course components with SED 2113.
Stay current with research and professional practices in leadership, organizational behavior, communication, and engineering management.
