About The Position
This course examines the relationship between psychedelic experience, contemplative practice, and psychological and spiritual development processes. Rooted in religious studies and contemplative studies, it explores how non-ordinary states of consciousness can illuminate—and sometimes obscure—emotional, ethical, and existential work. Students will explore contemplative and religious interpretations of altered states, the dynamics of spiritual bypassing, and integration practices such as mindfulness, body awareness, and reflective inquiry within various spiritual and philosophical traditions. The course will be offered as a web conference.
Requirements
- Doctorate required in a related field.
- Successful experience teaching university courses in the field of harm reduction.
- An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
Nice To Haves
- Research interests in harm reduction, psychedelics, and public health.
- Relevant publications and research experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach the course 'Expérience psychédélique : Contemplation, préparation, intégration' (SRS5509 Section A00).
- Conduct web conference lectures.
- Engage students in exploring interpretations of altered states, spiritual bypassing, and integration practices.
