About The Position

This course introduces the interdisciplinary foundations of psychedelic studies from a Humanities perspective. It examines religious, historical, cultural, Indigenous, philosophical, and ethical approaches to psychedelic substances and experiences. Students will explore how psychedelics have shaped ritual practices, the production of religious meaning, and interpretations of consciousness, healing, and transformation. Contemporary scientific research will be addressed within the broader context of social, political, and spiritual settings, rather than solely through clinical frameworks.

Requirements

  • Doctorate or ABD in a related field.
  • Experience teaching university-level courses in the field of psychedelic studies.
  • Competence in French (language of instruction).

Responsibilities

  • Teach Fondements des études sur les psychédéliques (SRS5508 Section A00) during the 2026 Fall Semester.
  • Deliver lectures via web conference.
  • Engage students in exploring the interdisciplinary foundations of psychedelic studies from a Humanities perspective.
  • Examine religious, historical, cultural, Indigenous, philosophical, and ethical approaches to psychedelic substances and experiences.
  • Discuss how psychedelics have shaped ritual practices, religious meaning, consciousness, healing, and transformation.
  • Address contemporary scientific research within broader social, political, and spiritual contexts.
