Registry Acute Care Float RN Clinician

Emory HealthcareJohns Creek, GA

About The Position

The purpose of the facility based/operating unit float pool position is to provide clinical resources in a variety of patient care departments throughout an Emory Healthcare operating unit/facility. This role is for a capable clinician who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population. The clinician routinely uses acquired knowledge, theory, research, and experience to respond to changes in clinical situations and is able to apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice, personalizing care for each patient/family. The position serves as a resource to lesser experienced nurses and to support staff, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of therapeutic patient care, patient advocacy, clinical pathways/care maps, team dynamics, and hospital systems. The clinician prioritizes nursing interventions for assigned patients, identifies complex patient problems, ensures continuity of care, coordinates diagnostic procedures, and anticipates potential patient crises through continual evaluation of patient outcomes. The role may also involve participation in quality improvement efforts, serving as a resource for other registered nurses and support staff, and potentially functioning in the Charge Nurse role, making patient care assignments. Thorough documentation of all aspects of patient care, following established charting procedures, is required. The clinician also participates in the orientation of new staff and may serve as a preceptor.
