About The Position

The Registration Specialist is responsible for admitting all patients in a timely manner. This includes ensuring all current information is documented, signatures are received, insurance has been verified, authorizations obtained, and deductibles or co-pays have been requested. The role also involves ensuring proper patient identification through wristbands, providing advance directives, and answering patient questions or concerns. Responsibilities

Admit all patients in a timely manner.
Ensure all current information has been documented.
Obtain necessary signatures.
Verify insurance and obtain authorizations.
Request deductibles or co-pays.
Ensure proper patient identification with wristbands.
Provide advance directives to each patient.
Answer patient questions or concerns.
Verify insurance benefits and document on the account.
Verify proper documentation has signatures and is scanned into the electronic record.
Review benefits and payment/deductible/copay with the patient.
Collect money and/or secure payment via phone or in person and provide receipt.
Perform registration when patient arrives for services.
Verify patient identifiers before placing armband on patient.
Conduct medical necessity checks.
Provide prompt pay estimate calculation.
Create patient flow and ensure no patient delays.
Provide excellent customer service.
Obtain ABN with payment when necessary.
Answer phones as necessary.
Ensure each department has accurate paperwork/labels on the patient prior to test completion.
Ensure authorization has been obtained for patient testing prior to test completion.
