About The Position

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to; registering patients, providing staff coverage, working Epic Registration work queues, assisting the Supervisor with ABN and IMM auditing for target reporting, training new employees, and ordering supplies. This position is required to attend Epic Supervisor training for access to appropriate work queues. The Registration Coordinator will be responsible for training all new staff.

Requirements

  • High school or GED
  • Demonstrate competency in Microsoft� Windows.
  • Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
  • Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
  • Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
  • Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for staff training and orientation to department.
  • Provides guidance to Registration Associates in ED and outpatient registration.
  • Provides coverage for schedule gaps in ED and outpatient registration.
  • Provides necessary coverage for the delivery of IMM to inpatients.
  • Maintains open interdepartmental communication to ensure quality customer care and service.
  • Works Registration work queues in Epic.
  • Keeps up-to-date with insurance requirements and acts at a resource for registration associates with questions.
  • Knows basic reimbursement methodologies and maintains the ability to explain it to the public.
  • Perform IMM and ABN audits.
  • Assists Supervisor in maintaining and distributing educational materials for staff.
  • Work with Transfer Center on Direct Admit patients.
  • Participates in and attends meetings as required.
  • Provide coverage in all locations, including Riverfront, Bay City, Birch Run and Chesaning.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule in order to provide coverage when needed, including weekends.
  • Acts as a patient advocate, crossing multi?disciplinary lines to meet patient needs.
  • Know requirements for consent for treatment and knowledge of legal guardianship policies.
  • Demonstrates competency in Infection Prevention and Control Practices and Policies
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Employees need to demonstrate competency in Microsoft� Windows.
  • An employee may be required to participate in further learning opportunities offered by MyMichigan Health.
  • Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training must also be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.
