About The Position

The Registrar is responsible for registering patients presenting to Freeman Sprindale Hospital. This role involves conducting patient interviews to gather registration information, completing required forms, and obtaining necessary signatures. The Registrar also initiates the financial counseling process, collects payments owed, and verifies insurance at the point of service to calculate patient estimates. This position serves as the primary point of contact for all initial communications, representing Northwest Medical Center.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to perform all responsibilities of the scheduler as needed to ensure continuous scheduling coverage.
• 1+ year of scheduling, administrative support, or clerical experience (healthcare or service operations preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service skills and professional communication (phone, email, and in-person).
• Minimum of 6 months customer service required.
• Knowledge of computers, and other standard office equipment required.
• Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute required.

• Medical office experience preferred.
