Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance procedures preferred
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Nice To Haves
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- Training on 3pm-11pm shift, including weekends
Responsibilities
- Greeting and assisting patients with the registration intake process at ER registration and at the bedside in a a fast paced Emergency Dept. setting
- Collecting and verifying patient information, demographics, and financial and insurance details
- Obtaining authorizations for treatment
- Ensuring compliance with privacy and security regulations (HIPAA)
- Scheduling patient appointments and managing patient inquiries
- Patient pre-admission, admission and discharge functions
- Collaborating with other departments, healthcare providers, and administrative staff in support of our patients
- Maintaining a positive attitude while working with a diverse group of caring professionals
