About The Position

The Ortho Central Ambulatory Surgery Center is dedicated to serving patients with a wide range of orthopedic needs, from athletes with injuries to retirees requiring surgery. Our expert team comprises orthopedic surgeons, a sports medicine physician, bone health specialists, physical therapists, and workers’ compensation specialists. We offer treatment for various orthopedic conditions, including sports-related fractures, foot and ankle surgery, and hip, knee, and shoulder reconstructive surgery. The Ambulatory Surgery Center operates Monday through Friday to accommodate patient needs.

Requirements

• One year clerical experience and six months healthcare experience are required.
• Keyboard skills accurate 30 wpm.
• Expertise in customer relations, telephone skills and computer applications.
• High School Education or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Medical Terminology required.
• Six months clerical and customer service experience required.
• Some computer experience required.
• Medical and insurance experience required.
• Must be able to type a minimum of 30 WPM.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice To Haves

• Medical office, insurance, hospital or computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enter patient information into registration system.
• Perform quality control checks on registration data.
• Assist patients complete necessary registration.
• Keep work area clean, organized and professional.
• Receptive to feedback and strives for continuous improvement.
• Flexible and adaptable to change.
• Collect co-pays and other payments from patients.
• Other duties as assigned
