About The Position

The Staff Pad is partnering with a respected hospital in Las Vegas, NM to hire an experienced ED Registrar. In this highly visible role, you’ll serve as the welcoming face of the Emergency Department—guiding patients through the registration process while supporting seamless communication between patients, families, and clinical teams and ensure a smooth patient experience. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong typing proficiency, computer and data entry skills with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Ability to stay composed, organized, and effective in a busy Emergency Department environment
• Team-oriented mindset with a passion for helping others
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Flexible and dependable professional available to work Thursday night graveyard shifts and provide additional coverage as needed

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a hospital, clinic, medical office, or healthcare setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors with empathy, efficiency, professionalism, and a calm presence
• Conduct patient interviews to gather necessary information, insurance details, complete required documentation, and obtain consent forms and signatures
• Explain hospital financial policies and payment procedures to patients and their families
• Register patients and maintain up-to-date records within the hospital’s electronic health record (EHR) system
• Forward patient information and documentation to appropriate hospital departments.
• Partner closely with nurses, providers, and ED staff to support efficient patient flow and timely admissions
• Answer patient and visitor questions and provide guidance on hospital procedures, policies, and next steps
• Help create a positive, supportive experience for patients and families during high-stress situations
• Multitask effectively, work independently, and remain self-motivated in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of registration procedures for Emergency Department, Outpatient, and Inpatient Admission services
• Maintain registration accuracy with an error rate below 5%, demonstrating proficiency in HMS and Pro-Med systems
• Demonstrate excellence in point-of-service collections while ensuring a positive patient experience and adherence to financial policies
