As an ER Registered Nurse, you’ll assess, plan and implement and evaluate patient care during some of the most critical moments of their lives while working alongside a collaborative team dedicated to clinical excellence, compassion, and community-centered care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Alabama RN license or Multi-State Compact RN license
- BLS certification required
- Must obtain ACLS and PALS certifications within one year of hire
Nice To Haves
- TNCC preferred
- Previous Emergency Department experience strongly preferred
- New graduates with a passion for emergency medicine are encouraged to apply
Responsibilities
- Serve as an advocate for patients of all ages (ranging from neonates to geriatrics), respond to emergencies quickly and effectively and help maintain an efficient ER environment
- Perform initial patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Administer medications & IV therapy per hospital policy and with accuracy and confidence
- Respond quickly and effectively to trauma, medical emergencies, and critical situations
- Coordinate nursing care and patient assignments based on acuity and staff competencies
- Accurately document patient status, interventions and responses in the electronic medical record
- Provide emotional support and compassionate communication to patients and families during difficult moments
- Uphold the highest standards for patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care
