Overnight Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
About The Position
Reidsville Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced, confident Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our overnight team. This role is ideal for a technician who is comfortable working independently, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing high-level care to hospitalized and emergent patients. Our technicians play a critical role in patient care and hospital flow. You’ll be trusted to problem-solve in real time, advocate for patients, support urgent care needs, and deliver consistent, detail-oriented nursing care across a variety of cases.
Requirements
- 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
- Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of North Carolina
- Proficiency in the following skills:
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Experience with hospitalized patient care, monitoring, and emergency triage
- Phlebotomy and IV catheter placement
- Strong critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for hospitalized medical and post-operative patients, including ongoing assessments, treatments, and monitoring
- Triage incoming urgent and emergency cases overnight, prioritizing care and communicating changes appropriately as needed
- Independently carry out treatment plans, anticipate patient needs, and escalate concerns as needed
- Monitor vitals, pain levels, and patient comfort, documenting changes clearly and thoroughly
- Maintain precise medical records and flow sheets
- Support veterinarians with overnight procedures, diagnostics, and patient stabilization
