About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Team in Savannah, GA. We are open Monday - Friday, 8am - 6pm. This role involves providing nursing care to stable patients, performing physical exams, administering fluids, and operating intravenous fluid pumps. A key aspect of this position includes post-operative client communication and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A rotating on-call schedule is required after training.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two or more years of experience in a veterinary hospital.
  • Ability to place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein.
  • Ability to set up intravenous fluids.
  • Ability to operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
  • Ability to disconnect and connect patient from intravenous fluids aseptically.
  • Ability to monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload.
  • Ability to perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
  • Understanding of normal vital parameters and ability to alert doctor when abnormal.
  • Rotating on call schedule is required once training has been completed.

  • Able to disconnect and connect patient from intravenous fluids aseptically.
