About The Position

Del Mar Heights Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Registered Veterinary Technician to join their team. Requirements

Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California, license must be active and in good standing.
3+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
Passion for working with animals and their owners
Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

Perform complete dental procedures, including digital x-rays, scaling, polishing, charting, and extractions (preferred)
Ability to utilize ultrasound to obtain diagnostic images and urine samples (preferred)

Responsibilities

Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories
Perform basic exam procedures
Skilled in venipuncture and Intravenous (IV) catheter placement (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning
Perform complete dental procedures, including digital x-rays, scaling, polishing, charting, and extractions
Comfortable with general anesthesia and surgical assisting (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); in-house laboratory equipment
Ability to utilize ultrasound to obtain diagnostic images and urine samples
Excellent client communication/education
Ability to perform Technician appointments independently, including accurate medical record documentation
