About The Position
We are currently looking to hire a Part-Time Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team at Alta Rancho Pet Hospital in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Proudly serving Rancho Cucamonga and the surrounding communities since 1975, Alta Rancho Pet Hospital is staffed with passionate animal lovers who are dedicated to providing high quality care. Requirements
- 3 + years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in California, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire required
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species
- Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
- Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
Nice To Haves
- Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing care in a hospital or outdoor setting
- Perform dental procedures, including scaling, polishing, radiographs, extractions, and suturing
- Perform IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
- Monitor anesthesia and assist in surgical procedures, including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care
- Perform laboratory tasks including cytology set-up and interpretation
- Conduct diagnostic procedures including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
- All other duties of a Registered Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
