About The Position

Animal Medical Center San Rafael is currently looking to hire a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves pets and being part of a fun, supportive team. They will have experience with rooming patients, drawing blood, placing IV catheters, radiology, assisting in surgeries, and proper animal handling & restraint, and being a positive, inclusive and motivating team member. Requirements

1+ years clinical experience as a Veterinary Technician.
Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California, license must be active and in good standing. Or be eligible to transfer or become licensed in California within 3 months of hire.
Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
Passion for working with animals and their owners
Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

Ability to perform dental extractions as allowed by licensure

Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories
Perform basic exam procedures
Skilled in venipuncture and Intravenous (IV) catheter placement (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning
Perform complete dental procedures, including digital x-rays, scaling, polishing, charting
Ability to perform dental extractions as allowed by licensure preferred
Comfortable with general anesthesia and surgical assisting (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); IDEXX in-house laboratory
Excellent client communication/education
Adaptable to working well with current doctors and team members
