About The Position

Boulevard Pet Hospital, a full-service small-animal practice in Castro Valley, California, has been serving the East Bay community for over 50 years. We provide comprehensive care for dogs and cats, including wellness, preventive medicine, dentistry, diagnostics, spay/neuter procedures, and surgery. We also offer same-day urgent and emergency care during business hours. We are seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) who is confident, compassionate, enjoys a collaborative general practice environment, and is comfortable with hands-on patient care.

Requirements

• Current RVT/LVT/CVT credential in good standing
• 3+ years of Veterinary Technician experience preferred
• Demonstrated experience with IV catheter placement, intubation, and dental cleanings
• Strong anesthesia monitoring and patient-care skills
• Excellent communication and client-service skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the veterinary team
• Compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced general practice environment

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for veterinary patients
• Place and maintain IV catheters
• Intubate and monitor patients under anesthesia
• Perform dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and surgery
• Assist veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures
• Collect and process laboratory samples
• Monitor patients during anesthesia and provide appropriate recovery care
• Administer medications and treatments as directed
• Obtain and record patient histories, weights, and vital signs
• Educate clients regarding medications, treatments, and home-care instructions
• Maintain accurate medical records and a clean, organized treatment area
