About The Position
Destination Pet is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) for Purple Paws Pet Clinic in Coronado, CA. This community-minded small animal practice believes credentialed technicians are the clinical drivers of patient care and encourages RVTs to work at the top of their license. The role involves serving as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset, and utilizing skills in anesthesia, dentistry, diagnostics, nursing, triage, and workflow leadership. The clinic is a well-established, full-service general practice hospital with a legacy of excellence, featuring a state-of-the-art facility and top-of-the-line medical equipment. They are dedicated to staying current with advancements in diagnostics, medical treatments, surgical procedures, and preventative wellness.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) state license.
- Leadership and peer mentoring experience is a plus!

Responsibilities
- Anesthesia & Analgesia: Full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
- Dentistry: Full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).
- Diagnostics: High-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
- Nursing & Triage: Critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
- Workflow Leadership: Leading tech appointments, team huddles, and mentoring assistants/externs.
- Serve as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset.
- Work at the top of your license.
