Registered Veterinary Technician - Kingston Regional Pet Hospital
About The Position
We are an after-hours emergency hospital located in Kingston, ON. We are a mentoring team of DVMs and RVTs who encourage everyone to step outside of their comfort zone and learn new skills. We are a fast paced environment dealing with emergencies in small animals. Our team is supportive, easy going and enjoys light hearted times during the stressful ones. Our ideal team member would be eager to learn, enjoy a fast pace of work while being able to multi-task and be superior in client communication skills. We are open overnight Mondays through Wednesdays and 24 hours starting Thursday evenings to Monday mornings and all holidays to serve the needs of the community. Flexibility in schedule and a work-life balance are important to our culture.
Requirements
- Must have passed the VTNE or be eligible to write the VTNE.
- Must be in good standing with the provincial regulatory association.
- Successfully completed a 2 or 3-year accredited Canadian Veterinary or Animal Health Technology Diploma Program.

Responsibilities
- Assists the Veterinarian with medical, surgical and dental procedures.
- Uses a range of diagnostic equipment.
- Prepares patients, instruments and equipment for surgery.
- Administers and monitors medicines under the direction of a Veterinarian.
- Builds positive client relationships by displaying genuine care and compassion towards clients and their pets.
- Is respectful in all interactions.
- Provides exceptional customer service.
