About The Position

Veterinary Specialty Hospital North County is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Neurology team. This role is for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy advanced medicine, and love being part of a collaborative specialty team. The Neurology service is led by two Board-Certified Neurologists and supported by a talented team of veterinary professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and outstanding client experiences. Neurology offers the opportunity to combine technical expertise with compassionate patient care, working closely with specialists, utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment, and playing a critical role in helping patients regain mobility, comfort, and quality of life.

Requirements

  • Active California RVT license
  • Minimum two years of veterinary experience
  • Strong anesthesia knowledge and hands-on anesthesia experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a highly collaborative team environment
  • Commitment to exceptional patient care and client service

Responsibilities

  • Performing venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Calculating and administering medications and CRIs
  • Monitoring anesthesia for advanced procedures including MRI, CT, and surgery
  • Assisting with patient preparation, induction, recovery, and nursing care
  • Performing sterile surgical preparation and assisting during procedures
  • Supporting doctors during appointments and educating clients throughout their pet's treatment journey
  • Advocating for patient comfort, safety, and exceptional care at every stage
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
  • Collaborating closely with doctors and fellow technicians to provide seamless patient care
