In this role, the Neurology Technician will be responsible for monitoring anesthesia during MRI procedures and neurosurgical cases. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with complex neurological conditions, and to deepen your understanding of brain function and neurological disease.

Requirements

  • Must be CVT, LVT, RVT, or PVT certified in Colorado.
  • 1 year + of applicable experience
  • Strong knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, and work on your feet for prolonged periods
  • Exceptional multi-tasking skills, maintaining high-quality standards in patient care and decision-making.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with CASE staff and team members.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Technical skills: venipuncture, blood draw, placing IV catheter, lab sample collection
  • Admitting and discharging procedural and surgical cases.
  • Dispensing medications directed by veterinarian
  • Preparing estimates for the doctor and inputting technician appointment charges
  • Assisting neurologist with initial consultations and rechecks including collecting a medical history and obtaining patient vitals.
  • Anesthesia monitoring for MRIs and neurosurgical procedures, endotracheal intubation, calculation of CRIs.
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment with a positive attitude
  • Ability to set up and break down operating room and clean surgical instruments
  • Calculate drug dosages
  • Professional and compassionate client communication in-person and on the phone.
