About The Position

As an Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician, you'll work alongside experienced emergency doctors and specialists providing advanced nursing care for critically ill and injured patients in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license.
  • Minimum of two years of emergency or clinical veterinary experience.
  • Strong technical skills in anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, CPR, drug calculations, critical patient care, and patient handling.
  • Excellent communication, client service, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced emergency environment.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Mentorship toward Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) certification

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional nursing care for emergency and critically ill patients.
  • Serve as the primary nurse for emergency surgical procedures during swing shifts.
  • Triage emergency patients and support clients throughout their hospital experience.
  • Partner with veterinarians to perform patient assessments, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples and assist with advanced diagnostic imaging.
  • Induce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia and sedation.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.
