About The Position

SAGE Concord is hiring a California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our overnight Emergency team. You'll care for emergency, hospitalized, and critically ill patients alongside experienced ER clinicians with access to advanced diagnostics and a multidisciplinary specialty team. Requirements

  • Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license required.
  • Strong veterinary nursing skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, drug calculations, patient restraint, and monitoring.
  • Ability to remain organized and composed in a fast-paced Emergency environment.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills.
  • Interest in continuing to develop your Emergency & Critical Care skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Emergency, Critical Care, ICU, Specialty, or other clinical veterinary experience preferred.
  • Anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Triage, assess, and provide advanced nursing care for emergency and hospitalized patients.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection, and in-house diagnostics.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, and continuous rate infusions (CRIs).
  • Monitor critical patients and quickly recognize and communicate changes in patient condition.
  • Assist Emergency veterinarians with diagnostics, treatments, procedures, and patient stabilization.
  • Induce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia or sedation.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and provide thorough patient handoffs to ensure continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with Emergency veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and Specialty teams throughout the hospital.
