About The Position

Join Animal Urgent Care (AUC Northeast), a brand-new 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital serving the Denver metro area. As an Emergency Veterinary Technician (CVT/RVT/LVT), you'll work alongside an experienced emergency team providing advanced patient care in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while making a meaningful difference for pets and their families. This role involves providing exceptional nursing care for emergency and hospitalized patients while working closely with emergency veterinarians and fellow technicians.

Requirements

  • Certified, Registered, or Licensed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred
  • Provisional RVTs (pRVT) are encouraged to apply
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in emergency, surgery, or specialty veterinary medicine
  • Experience in a fast-paced emergency or multi-doctor veterinary hospital
  • Strong anesthesia monitoring skills
  • Experience calculating and administering medications and CRIs
  • Proficient in venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical assistance
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to remain calm and organized during emergency situations
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Responsibilities

  • Perform treatments for emergency and hospitalized patients
  • Administer medications by multiple routes
  • Monitor patient vital signs including ECG, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, temperature, and respiratory status
  • Manage IV fluid therapy, CRIs, and multiple fluid lines
  • Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory samples
  • Place and maintain intravenous catheters
  • Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Support blood transfusions, blood typing, and crossmatching
  • Participate in CPR (RECOVER-guideline CPCR)
  • Perform bandaging, splinting, and wound care
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for hospitalized patients
  • Assist with feeding tube management
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Communicate patient updates with clients compassionately and professionally
  • Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and medical documentation
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment areas
