About The Position

The Registered Vascular Technician will deliver care to patients utilizing the Registered Vascular Technician Process. This role involves performing diagnostic carotid arterial and venous studies of upper and lower extremities, as well as venous studies for patients with suspected peripheral vascular disease, adhering to ICAVL guidelines. The technician will also prepare and maintain operations logs, calibrate and maintain equipment, and order supplies as needed. Explaining procedures to patients to ensure cooperation and reduce anxiety is crucial. Communication with physicians, managers, and co-workers regarding changes in patient conditions during procedures is essential. The role also includes conducting vascular laboratory studies according to protocols, ensuring appropriate scheduling, maintaining the quality assurance database, and reviewing test results with the interpreting physician. This position is with the Heart & Vascular Specialists Clinic, a well-established Cardiovascular clinic focused on providing reliable healthcare, cardiac and vascular testing, and fostering teamwork and compassion.

Requirements

  • 1 Year Related experience in a Vascular Laboratory (required)
  • RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist Upon Hire (required) or RVS - Registered Vascular Sonographer Upon Hire (required)
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support Exception Quarterly 90 Days Upon Hire (required)
  • Possess an excellent working knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary anatomy/pathology, the cardiac patient, and treatment of cardiac diseases
  • Have working knowledge of vascular arterial and venous anatomy for carotid and peripheral vasculature
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have good computer skills
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree Related field (preferred)
  • Graduate of Accredited Ultrasound Technology Program (preferred)
  • Proficient in all Cardiac related Vascular Ultrasounds (strongly preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Conducts vascular laboratory studies in accordance with the vascular laboratory protocols.
  • Ensures that all vascular laboratory studies are scheduled in an appropriate manner to satisfy the clinical situation.
  • Maintains the vascular laboratory quality assurance database.
  • Reviews test results with interpreting physician.
