About The Position

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to work in our ED, Med Surg, OB units. The RRT will conduct basic physician prescribed treatments and demonstrate competence in respiratory equipment related to respiratory care-based practice. The role involves operating and maintaining respiratory care equipment, administering patient care, and documenting practice activity in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR) in accordance with scope of practice, departmental policies and procedures, HIPAA standards, and quality assurance guidelines. This position will be working with adults, pediatrics, and babies.

Requirements

  • Diploma or an Associate's degree in respiratory therapy from an Accredited Respiratory Care Education Program is required.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required.
  • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner or eligibility for licensure in the state of practice is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy from an Accredited Respiratory Care Education Program is preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.

Responsibilities
