About The Position

This position involves caring for and treating all patients with respiratory and cardiac illnesses. The Registered Respiratory Therapist will work their assigned schedule and is responsible for performing all aspects of care for patients with COPD, asthma, and interstitial lung disease. They will also perform clinical skills to evaluate patients’ physical and mental status, anticipate patient and staff needs, and be competent and efficient in a group class setting. Proficiency in monitoring patients on ventilatory support and for any cardiopulmonary symptoms is essential. The role requires maintaining current knowledge of regulatory standards, patient safety goals, and other regulatory requirements, and integrating this into system design. The employee supports the hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures, and participates in required education for DNV programs as applicable.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Current Oregon RT License
  • Current RRT

Responsibilities

  • Evidence of continuing education is appropriate for the skill level and specific areas of practice.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform in technical, clerical, and interpersonal aspects.
  • Perform all aspects of care for patients with COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease.
  • Perform clinical skills to evaluate patients’ physical and mental status.
  • Anticipate patient and staff needs.
  • Be able to multitask.
  • Competent and efficient in group class setting.
  • Proficient in monitoring patients on ventilatory support and for any cardiopulmonary symptoms.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, problem solve and be team oriented.
  • Maintains current knowledge of regulatory standards, patient safety goals, and other regulatory requirements to integrate this into system design.

  • Participates in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position (reference program education curriculum).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
