About The Position

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory therapy, diagnostic evaluation, treatment, and cardiopulmonary patient care under medical direction. The position serves ICU, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care units, and requires willingness to float among these units. The therapist provides and documents patient and caregiver education based on identified needs and adapts quickly to changing patient conditions and clinical priorities. The role is offered as local or travel contract work in New Jersey, with variable shifts; morning and evening shifts are listed.

Requirements

• Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care License.
• Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
• At least 1 year of recent licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist experience.
• At least 1 year of ICU respiratory therapy experience.
• Previous ventilator experience.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current PALS certification.
• Experience with intubation assistance, ventilator setup, and ventilator management.
• Willingness to float to adult ICU, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care units.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions and clinical priorities.
• Strong teamwork, accountability, patient-focused care, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy, diagnostic evaluation, treatment, and cardiopulmonary patient care under medical direction.
• Float to adult ICU, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care units as needed.
• Provide and document patient and caregiver education based on identified needs.
