About The Position

The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care for a specified group of patients. This role collaborates with physicians, medical professionals, and other staff to ensure quality care. The therapist provides care for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, or geriatric patients, utilizing knowledge of growth and development principles appropriate to the patient's age. They involve appropriate parties such as the patient's family or guardian and outside agencies in the assessment, treatment, and continuing care of the patient as needed. The position supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.

Requirements

  • Registry with the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Current licensure from the state of Maryland as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
  • At least one (1) year of clinical experience preferred
  • Current CPR training with recertification every two years.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) if working in NICU/Special Care Nursery
  • Able to demonstrate good ability to communicate using English language in written and verbal fashion, promoting a team approach to patient care
  • Visual acuity at all ranges corrected or uncorrected
  • Normal hearing range corrected or uncorrected

Responsibilities

  • Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care to a specified group of patients.
  • Collaborating with physicians, medical professionals and other staff to ensure the quality of care given.
  • Providing care for the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patient (as defined in the unit scope of care).
  • Utilizing knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient’s age to ensure that care provided meets the unique, physical and psychosocial needs of the patient.
  • Involving appropriate parties (i.e.; patient’s family or guardian, outside agencies) in the assessment, treatment and continuing care of the patient as needed.
  • Supporting the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.
