Per Diem-Respiratory Therapist -Nights
About The Position
NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking Respiratory Therapists for night shifts to join their team. The hospital is renowned for its advanced techniques in respiratory therapy, including nitric oxide programs and work with oscillating and jet ventilators. Respiratory Therapists play a crucial role in patient care, assisting with the transportation of incubated patients, maintaining airways, and providing ventilation and oxygenation. They also assess and recommend changes to respiratory therapy modalities to improve care quality and reduce hospital stays. This is a per diem position with availability primarily Monday-Friday, requiring 4 shifts per week.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy
- Current NYS Respiratory Therapist License
- BCLS certification thru AHA
Nice To Haves
- 6 months - 1 year of experience
- Hospital inpatient experience
- Critical care experience
Responsibilities
- Assist in transportation of incubated patients with emphasis on maintaining airways and providing adequate ventilation and oxygenation.
- Assess modalities of respiratory therapy and recommend changes, including improvements appropriate to the delivery of respiratory care.
