About The Position

This position is for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) working on a PRN basis with rotating shifts. The role involves reviewing medical records, obtaining patient history, evaluating patients using age and diagnosis-appropriate assessments, and applying patient care interventions according to protocol guidelines. The therapist will demonstrate competence in age-appropriate patient assessment and individualize care based on age-specific needs, using therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to the patient's age and desire for treatment. They will perform treatment procedures within the scope of their professional license. Texas Health Hospital Dallas is a Magnet-designated, full-service hospital with over 50 years of experience, specializing in various areas including cancer care, cardiology, neurosciences, women's services, and emergency medicine. It is recognized as a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, a Comprehensive Stroke and Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, and holds certifications as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Heart Attack Center, and a designated Magnet hospital.

Requirements

Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required
Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner upon hire required
RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist upon hire required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support ICU and Emergency Department only 90 Days required
NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program NRP required if working in the NICU 90 Days required
Good verbal communications, good interpersonal skills, and computer experience

Nice To Haves

1 Year Med/Surg or critical care experience preferred
