About The Position

The Pediatric Respiratory Therapist provides professional respiratory-focused intervention throughout all phases of a patient’s care stay. The therapist assesses patients and helps determine a respiratory plan of care based on physical assessment, diagnosis, and patient history. The role may include medicated and non-medicated therapies; invasive and noninvasive ventilation; oxygen administration and titration; diagnostic testing related to ventilation and pulmonary function; and arterial and capillary blood gas analysis. This position is based at CoxHealth South in Springfield, Missouri, in the SLC-CH Respiratory department. It is scheduled for 36 hours per week, with shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Program.
Missouri State License for Respiratory.
Must obtain NRP within 90 days of hire.
Provide care appropriate to the age of the population served.
Proficient in safely providing routine and emergent respiratory modalities.
Able to assess patients and provide care according to protocol.
Able to provide accurate and appropriate electronic documentation and education.

Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
