About The Position

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) will be responsible for reviewing medical records, obtaining patient history, and performing age and diagnosis-appropriate assessments. The RRT will apply appropriate patient care interventions according to protocol guidelines and priority of care, demonstrating competence in age-specific needs. They will utilize therapeutic treatment techniques within the scope of their professional license and perform treatment procedures accordingly.

Requirements

  • Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner upon hire required
  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist upon hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support ICU and Emergency Department only 90 Days required
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program NRP required if working in the NICU 90 Days required
  • Good verbal communications, good interpersonal skills, and computer experience

Responsibilities

  • Review available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from the patient or family.
  • Evaluates each patient using age and diagnosis-appropriate assessment tests and measurements.
  • Applies appropriate patient care interventions according to protocol guidelines and priority of care.
  • Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age-specific needs.
  • Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient's age and desire for treatment.
  • Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license.
