About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide specialized respiratory care for adult and geriatric patients in a critical care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong ICU experience and be proficient in advanced respiratory support and life-saving interventions.
Requirements
- Active Indiana State RRT License (NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- 18 months of recent ICU experience
- Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy practices and ICU protocols
- Ability to manage critically ill patients in high-pressure environments
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to adult and geriatric ICU patients
- Manage ventilator support including BiPAP, CPAP, and mechanical ventilation weaning
- Perform and interpret arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis
- Administer respiratory medications via nebulizers and inhalers
- Deliver oxygen therapy, including high-flow nasal cannula and aerosol treatments
- Assist with airway management procedures such as intubation support, extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and ventilator alarms
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and critical care teams to optimize patient outcomes
