Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
About The Position
This position provides respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by physicians, handling more complex cases and training and mentoring staff. The role involves performing all types of Respiratory Care, including diagnostic testing, treadmills, complete PFTs, ABG machine maintenance, hemodynamics, special procedures, and ENGs. The therapist will perform procedures in specialty areas such as ICU and PACU, and conduct assessment and treatment for newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The ability to precept students and orientees is also required. Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification/license
- Ability to precept students and orientees
Responsibilities
- Provides respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by physicians
- Works on cases that are more complex
- Trains and Mentors staff
- Performs all types of Respiratory Care including diagnostic testing, treadmills, complete PFTs, ABG machine maintenance, hemodynamics, special procedures and ENGs
- Performs procedures required in the specialty areas, i.e. ICU, PACU, etc.
- Performs assessment and treatment of the newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient
- Precept students and orientees
