About The Position

This Registered Respiratory Therapist IV SE position is part-time, benefits-eligible, with 24 hours per week. The schedule includes nights with a weekend rotation, weekend on-call duties, and holidays as needed. The pay range is $38.20 - $57.30. The role involves adhering to general hospital standards, promoting a collegial work environment, and providing leadership to staff to ensure goals are met. This includes developing standards of performance, capitalizing on employee strengths, and providing supervision through coaching, counseling, and performance reviews. The position ensures care is delivered with respect for patient rights and preferences, maintaining privacy, confidentiality, and security. Age-appropriate patient care is a key responsibility, along with maintaining a high level of clinical expertise in supervised areas. A culture of safety for patients, self, and co-workers is promoted in conjunction with the Director and Managers. The role also assists with department operations by monitoring quality, safety, and outcomes, implementing performance improvement measures, and assisting with policy and protocol development. Additionally, it supports the development and implementation of orientation and other educational offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a collegial work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
  • Provides leadership to staff to ensure short and long-term goals are met by developing standards of performance and capitalizing on employee strengths.
  • Provide leadership and supervision through coaching, counseling, developing standards of service, ensuring training and education, maintenance of competencies and conducting employee performance reviews.
  • Ensures care is delivered with respect for patient's rights and preferences.
  • Maintains privacy, confidentiality, and security for patients and staff.
  • Ensures age/developmentally appropriate patient care is provided in accordance with Age-Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served.
  • Maintain a high level of clinical expertise in the areas of which they supervise.
  • Promotes a culture of safety for patients, self, co-workers, and facility in conjunction with the Director and Managers.
  • Assists with department operations by monitoring the quality, safety and outcomes, and implementing performance improvement measures for identified metrics.
  • Assists with policy and protocol development or changes.
