About The Position

Adventist Healthcare's Outpatient Imaging seeks to hire an experienced Registered Radiology Tech for our Outpatient Imaging office in Rockville, MD. This role involves performing diagnostic imaging studies, accurately documenting in computer systems, monitoring and assisting patients, and maintaining a safe environment. The technologist will also apply ALARA principles, maintain confidentiality, provide age-appropriate care, explain procedures to patients, and maintain a flexible schedule. Additionally, the role includes orienting new employees, training radiography students, and participating in PI projects.

Requirements

High school or GED required.
1 year’s radiography experience preferred
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) R.T.(R)
State of Maryland Radiation Technologist license
Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Strong customer service & critical thinking skills

Ability to work independently in a busy, fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Basic PC skills including RIS/PACS experience

Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment

Nice To Haves

Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography/and OR associate degree in Radiologic Technology (preferred)

Responsibilities

Performs diagnostic imaging studies per protocol.
Properly identifies patients, reviews orders and selects diagnostic x-ray protocol in order to maximize quality and safe patient care.
Accurately performs documentation in all computer systems applicable to diagnostic x-ray (HIS, RIS, PACS,).
Monitors and assists patients, before during and after examinations.
Maintain a clean and safe environment.
Knowledgeable and practices ALARA principles including proper shielding of patients.
Maintain patient, organizational and employee confidentiality.
Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients we serve i.e., pediatrics, geriatric and adolescent patients.
Receive patients, explains procedures and answers all patient questions and concerns pertaining to the exam.
Maintains schedule with a flexible attitude to accommodate variable volume.
Assists in orienting new employees, and training radiography students.
Participates in PI projects and other duties as assigned.
