About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire a Registered Radiologic Technologist who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. As a Radiologic Technologist you will perform diagnostic imaging studies per protocol. Properly identify patients, review orders and select diagnostic x-ray protocols to maximize quality and safe patient care. Accurately perform documentation in all computer systems applicable to diagnostic x-ray (HIS, RIS, PACS). Monitor and assist patients before, during, and after examinations. Maintain a clean and safe environment. Knowledgeable and practice ALARA principles including proper shielding of patients. Maintain patient, organizational, and employee confidentiality. Apply the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (pediatrics, geriatrics, and adolescents). Receive patients, explain procedures, and answer all patient questions and concerns pertaining to the exam. Maintain schedule with a flexible attitude to accommodate variable volume. Assist in orienting new employees and training radiography students. Participate in PI projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school or GED
  • 1 year’s radiography experience preferred
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) R.T.(R)
  • State of Maryland Radiation Technologist license
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography/and OR associate degree in Radiologic Technology (preferred)
