About The Position

Beloit Health System is seeking a motivated Student Radiology Technologist to join our Radiology team. This per diem position involves performing x-ray procedures under the supervision of a licensed Radiologic Technologist to aid in diagnosing disease processes. The role requires operating diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring image quality, and providing for the physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures. Responsibilities also include administering contrast media, assisting with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional procedures, documenting exams, performing quality control checks, and assisting with patient care and PACS processing. The student will also be responsible for reporting equipment malfunctions and participating in quality assurance programs. The ultimate goal is to pursue licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in final semester of an AMA accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Must become ARRT registered in Radiology and licensed in the state(s) you work within 90 days of graduation.
  • Self-motivated and able to be flexible.
  • Ability to problem-solve.
  • Ability to interact well with customers.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • CPR certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Performs x-ray procedures to produce images for the purpose of diagnosing disease processes under the supervision of a licensed Radiologic Technologist until board certified.
  • Provides diagnostic radiographic services.
  • Operates diagnostic imaging equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate under the supervision of a licensed Radiologic Technologist.
  • Evaluates radiography for technical quality and patient identification.
  • Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.
  • Administers or assists with administration of contrast media, as required.
  • Assists physician with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures.
  • Ensures proper documentation of exam, technical factors, repeat/reject information, quality improvement, etc.
  • Performs quality control checks as required.
  • Assists in aspects of patient care including transportation and PACs processing.
  • Detects, reports to supervision, and contacts repair person for equipment malfunctions.
  • Assumes responsibility for portions of department quality assurance and improvement programs.
  • Pursues licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
