About The Position

The Registered Psychiatric Nurse/Registered Nurse (RPN/RN) is accountable for promoting high quality care through assessing, planning, implementing, documenting and evaluating the total care needs of our patients. Requirements

  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Registered/eligible with College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of SK - CRPNS
  • Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing (BPN) is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Nursing is acceptable
  • Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Basic Communication skills
  • Advanced Organizational skills
  • Basic Mediation skills
  • Basic Decision making skills
  • Basic Counseling skills
  • Advanced Interpersonal skills
  • Advanced Assessment skills
  • Basic Facilitation skills

  • Competency in psychiatric nursing assessments, care planning & treatment
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to change
  • Knowledge of the Provincial Mental Health Services Act and Regulations
  • Knowledge of commonly used psychotropic medications
  • Must upload all relevant documents (ex: certificates, diplomas, proof of enrollment, licenses and/or memberships) relating to the qualifications of the position.
  • Must bring a valid Criminal Record Check (CRC) to the interview; it must be dated within six (6) months and include a vulnerable sector search.
