Reporting to the Director of Care (DOC) or Director of Health and Wellness (DHW), the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) is responsible for providing planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with the provincial standards of care. This role involves working as a member of an interprofessional team, applying a person-centered approach to care, and ensuring accurate and up-to-date clinical care assessments, care/service plans, and documentation. The RPN will also assist with resident care conferences, facilitate resident transitions, provide direct resident care including medication and treatment administration, and process orders for drugs and narcotics in compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies. Additionally, the RPN will educate residents and families, coordinate and evaluate resident care plans, manage nursing team assignments for efficient service delivery, respond to changes in resident condition and medical emergencies, and teach/delegate to unregulated care providers. The role also includes addressing resident/family concerns, supporting infection prevention and control, health and safety programs, and upholding the organization's values and philosophy.
