Registered Practical Nurse - Permanent Part-Time
About The Position
Villa Colombo Toronto is a 391-bed long-term care home in the heart of Toronto, committed to providing compassionate, resident-centered care for older adults. We are currently inviting applications for a Permanent Part-time Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our Resident Services team. This position is unionized and governed by the CUPE Collective Agreement.
Requirements
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current CPR certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of geriatric nursing and the long-term care sector
- Knowledge of applicable legislation, including the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021
- Medication administration and clinical documentation proficiency
- Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (issued within the last six months) as a condition of employment
- Compliance with occupational health, immunization, and screening requirements
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
Nice To Haves
- Italian language skills are considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in accordance with CNO standards, applicable legislation, and organizational policies
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary team conferences
- Ensure infection prevention and control practices are followed
- Supervise and support unregulated care providers
