Requirements
- Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province
- Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge
- Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role
- Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships
- Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft office applications
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required
- Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred
- Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset
Responsibilities
- Providing planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with the provincial standards of care.
- Being an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team who build trusted relationships with our residents, families and teams with continuous ongoing and effective communication.
- Implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of the care plans and making changes as required.
- Completing and ensuring resident’s clinical care assessments, care plans and documentation are accurate, up to date and communicating changes as required.
- Teaching, delegating and directing unregulated care providers, providing them with coaching & mentorship.
