Requirements
- Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province
- Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge
- Strong drive, respect, and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role
- Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships
- Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft office applications
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required
- Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred
- Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset
Responsibilities
- Provide planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with provincial standards of care.
- Build trusted relationships with residents, families, and teams through continuous and effective communication.
- Implement and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and make changes as required.
- Complete and ensure resident's clinical care assessments, care plans, and documentation are accurate, up-to-date, and communicate changes as required.
- Teach, delegate, and direct unregulated care providers, providing them with coaching and mentorship.
