About The Position

This position is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for individual patients/families, practicing according to the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Hospital, and the patient service unit. The nurse will provide appropriate learning experiences for patients and families to promote wellness and achieve an optimal quality of life, while maintaining competence and developing professional nursing practice.

Requirements

  • Current Certification of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Essential)
  • Current CPR Certification (Essential)
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
  • Demonstrated culturally sensitive approach to nursing care (Essential)
  • Demonstrated strong family centered care skills (Essential)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental health legislation, substitute decisions act, health care consent act, Personal Health Information Protection Act (Essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and establish therapeutic relationships with clients and team member (Essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (Essential)
  • Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning (Essential)
  • Evidence of self-motivation, enthusiasm, and flexibility (Essential)
  • Other appropriate combinations of education and experience, along with the demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position, may be considered in lieu of stated education and experience. (Essential)

Responsibilities
