The Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPT) will perform basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies. This role involves preparing the patient and equipment for testing, interviewing patients to understand their sleep disorder issues and explain procedures, and performing and documenting tests. The technologist will monitor the patient throughout the testing, intervening as necessary for patient needs or equipment issues. Additionally, they will collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs, and score, interpret, and report the results of sleep studies. The role also includes preparing, calibrating, repairing, and maintaining testing equipment, and determining and reporting needed repairs or replacements.
